For as long as I can remember, the beauty industry has been a part of who I am. What started as doing my sisters’ hair and nails every week soon grew into styling neighborhood friends and finding any opportunity to practice a craft I naturally gravitated toward. Even as a child, I knew there was something special about the art of making people feel beautiful.
I pursued that passion early, earning my cosmetology license and beginning my career in salons as an assistant. I was eager to learn, create, and find my place in an industry I had always loved. But as life unfolded, I found myself taking a different path. Eventually, I stepped away from the very thing that had once felt so much a part of me.
More than a decade later, that love never really left. It simply evolved.
Olive Beauty Collective was born from the realization that my place in the beauty industry could look different from what I had originally imagined. Rather than building a career behind the chair, I wanted to build something for the people who belong there.
I thought about new artists searching for guidance, experienced professionals ready for independence, and talented people who leave the industry because they never find the right place to grow. I wanted to create the kind of place that might make someone stay.
Through Olive Academy, we hope to bring educators, established artists, emerging talent, and guests together around a shared belief: learning never really ends.
